By calculating production rates, workforce sizes, inventory holdings, and other operational factors, aggregate planning creates a medium-term strategy that strikes a balance between supply and demand. It usually lasts between three and eighteen months and seeks to balance meeting anticipated demand with resource optimization. Aggregate planning lowers the risk of excess inventory or unmet demand by assisting organizations in matching their capacity with anticipated market demands.
