Dock-to-stock time is a performance metric that measures the time it takes for goods to move from the receiving dock to being available in inventory for sale or production. It reflects the efficiency of warehouse receiving and putaway processes. Shorter dock-to-stock times support faster replenishment and better inventory visibility, enabling more agile fulfillment and production planning. Optimizing this metric often involves warehouse layout improvements, automation, and streamlined receiving protocols.
