Error-proofing, or Poka-Yoke (a Japanese term), refers to techniques and mechanisms designed to prevent human or system errors in processes, particularly in manufacturing and logistics. In inventory management, error-proofing can include barcode scanning, automated reorder systems, or software checks that prevent data entry mistakes. These practices help maintain accurate inventory records, reduce shrinkage, and improve overall operational efficiency.
