Under the make-to-order production strategy, goods are only produced in response to a verified customer order. Compared to make-to-stock strategies, this method lowers the cost of keeping inventory on hand and lowers the possibility of obsolete stock, but it frequently results in longer lead times. In industries with highly configurable or unique products, like aerospace, automotive, and industrial machinery, MTO is frequently utilized.
