Non-value-added activities are tasks within the supply chain or inventory management processes that do not directly contribute to meeting customer requirements or improving product quality. These activities add cost and delay without providing benefits, such as excessive handling, unnecessary inspections, or redundant paperwork. Identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities is a key principle of lean supply chain management.
