A Pull System is the opposite of a push system—production and replenishment are driven by actual demand or consumption. Inventory is only restocked when it is needed, minimizing excess and supporting lean inventory principles. Pull systems reduce holding costs and improve responsiveness to customer needs, making them ideal for environments with high variability or customization. However, they require reliable and fast communication between supply chain nodes and may not be suitable when lead times are long or supply is inconsistent.
