The goal of quality control (QC), a crucial procedure in inventory and supply chain management, is to find flaws or irregularities in goods before they are delivered to customers. To make sure that products fulfill quality standards, it entails a methodical examination, testing, and measurement of the products. Early error detection helps QC cut down on returns, rework, and wasted inventory—all of which can raise carrying costs and decrease overall productivity. Using quality control (QC) at every stage of the supply chain, from raw materials to final goods, helps preserve the integrity of the product and the reputation of the brand. Furthermore, QC is incorporated into several phases, including production, warehousing, and procurement, rather than being merely a last checkpoint. Organizations can improve supplier performance by proactively addressing the underlying causes of defects by integrating quality checks, data analytics, and feedback loops.
